You wanna know what I did yesterday? I performed in front of an audience. And I rocked it. It went so smoothly, all our jokes were laughed at, no one forgot anything (which is a Christmas miracle, cause ALL through Tech Week we were forgetting our lines).
I was even told I fit the part I was given. That was a huge deal for me. I thought I was awful at acting like a mother. I thought I didn't know how to scold children, or be exasperated with my husband. I didn't even know how to walk in a grown-up way, at first. (Heels helped a lot.)
I love, love, love performing with an audience. It makes all the difference in the world. Having a little bit of pressure, having someone react to the jokes, having people clap after scenes. It all adds up to a giant sense of euphoria that you just can't get in rehersals.
I'm SO ready to do it again tonight. :)
So guys, I know I've already asked you, but PLEASE COME SEE IT!
"SHAZAM!"
I wish I could Narnina, but alas I am in TX... poo. I hope you know I don't like it here.
ReplyDeleteI know you are readdy for this Sporky I belive in you.
I will so be there. And I know exactly what you mean. It's the same with just singing in front of a crowd. I love audiences. They make everything feel more real and more natural and I love it!!
ReplyDeleteJust come back, Megan! I have an extra bed in my room with your name on it!
ReplyDeleteWhen are you coming, Lara? I'll be sure to do extra-well that night.
It really does. Rehersal is lame compared to the awesomeness of real shows.
I'll definately see it!! Can't wait!!
