When I'm with the Wizard

My whole life will change,
Cause once you're with the Wizard,
No one thinks you're strange!

Today, Megan, you get a whole stanza of a song! I'm pretty sure you're the only one who ever tried to play this game... but it's a lot easier thinking of titles this way, so I shall continue! :)

Anyway, today's title might actually fit for once! Because yesterday, I finished the whole Harry Potter series for the seventh time. A symbolic number to stop at, don't you think?

Once again, the genius of Jo Rowling has been fixed in my mind. Deathly Hallows is the most amazing book ever written. It's so complex and neatly written, and emotion-laden. My copy of that book is practically tear-stained, I've cried on it so many times. And it wraps up so nicely, and every little detail was important. It's SO awesome.

But can I just brag a little bit here? I TOTALLY called Harry being a Horcrux. I knew it, and whenever I read that sentence where Dumbledore tells Harry that he was the "horcrux Voldemort never meant to make" I do a fist pump and giggle out loud. Even now, three years and seven readings later I do that. It was such an absurd theory but I was SO happy that it came true.

ALL of my theories about that book came true actually. I knew Snape was good, I knew Harry would live, and I knew who RAB was. (but I wish I had been proven wrong about that last one. It was TOO obvious!)

I was right. About everything. Okay, I'm done gloating. ;)

The Forest Again will always be my favorite chapter in any book, ever written. It makes me cry every single time I read it. Especially when Lupin talks about Teddy. That always makes me shed a tear. Harry's thoughts and reflections on life in that chapter are just precious, and his stregth of character is amazing. His nostagia, and all the symbolism...

I LOVE symbolism because of this book. Like how it kept refering to Voldemort being like a child. Oh man, it kills me...

But I think 7 times is enough, for now. I feel like I've been numbed to it by reading it so many times. Every sentence is familiar to me but I don't want it to be. I want to read it like I don't know what's going to happen. I want to forget. So I'll wait, and give it little thought. But I'll see the movie and listen to MuggleCast, like always.

Speaking of the movie, 8 DAYS LEFT, YOU GUYS!!! :D

  2. I really don't know this song at all, so I will guess and say it is from the Wizard of Oz. :)

I love that book SO much! And every time there is a trailer on TV for the movie, I make my little sisters rewind it so I can watch it and then I flip out and the end of the trailer and say... "I AM GETTING SO PUMPED!"

Nina, now you have to read it forty times! So you can be like in the bible.

I really wish everyone came back to life though. I mean, why kill Fred, what did that accoplish but make everyone sad!? I hope they do an alternate ending for the movie which brings everyone back to life.

  3. The song is from Wicked, I do believe. And Harry Potter is great. However, I think that was one book I didn't speculate about. So I can't claim to be right about anything. :(

  4. I'm sorry, Sarah. You didn't even try and guess the basics, like Harry: live or die? Or Snape: Good or Bad? And you are very much correct. It is from Wicked, I'm proud of you. :)

...40 times??! Alright... It's only an 800-page novel.

Well, a Weasley sort of HAD to die during that book. Their WHOLE family was in the order, and their family is big. The sheer odds of them all living were very slim from the beginning, and it was unrealistic to assume they'd all make it out alive. And I hate to say it, but it made sense to kill him, out of all the Weasleys. He was the careless one, and he was a twin, so it's not we didn't still have George. (though I'm sure George was never the same) And though I love Fred, Harry needed to experience that in order to have the strength to walk to Voldemort and the end of his life. If he didn't see the death of one of his 'brothers' how would he ever have the strength to save the rest of his 'family'? He needed to see the death firsthand, and feel that pain so he could have the motivation to prevent any more deaths by facing his own.

And I SINCERELY do NOT hope they create an alternate ending. That'd be the biggest mistake EVERRRR.... As in EVERRRR.... Stay true to the book, please!!!!

  5. O.k. that make sense, but still.

I just want an alternate ending to the DVD. You don't have to watch it. I on the other hand am going to watch it. ;)

  6. This is what MuggleCast is all about, Megan... I could take every single dead character and write an essay about why they needed to die to progress the plot and help Harry's developement as a character. And I'd have FUN doing it, too.

    ...Dang, I'm a nerd.

Why don't you just write Fan Fiction, Megan? That seems the best way to get the ending you want. :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. NO! I WILL NEVER GET SUCKED INTO WRITING FAN FICTION... THIS I SWARE!

Nina I think you SHOULD write an essay on every one! Do you know how neet that would be? I will tell you, it would be VERY neet!

  8. Perhaps, if I ever have the time/feel like it. If you want to READ Harry Potter essays, though, there a ton on MuggleNet. :)

What's wrong with Fan Fiction? I read Avatar Fan Fics all the time! I used to read some HP ones, but I've stopped. And the only reason I don't write it myself is because I don't like writing. But the ideas are there, I assure you. ;)

  9. NINA GO TO MY BLOG ASAP!

I have learned something about Harry Potter 7 the Movie that will change your life.

  10. Actually, my dear, I've known this FOR MONTHS. I'm not surprised in the least, but I AM surprised by your freaking out.

And we've been debating this hotly on your original post, I see no reason to continue it on this one. Just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Sorry I freaked out... I'm good now I sware! And I have deleted that post because I WAS freaking out but NOW I'm good. :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Haha, alright. I know what that's like. And I'm glad you're good now. :) It makes me feel much better.

  13. Isn't Harry Potter neked (and I intentionally spelled that wrong) when he is with Dubmledore after the whole Voldemort thing? (I'm trying not to spoil anything in case people haven't read it...)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes he is and for the film they're making him that way too when Ron destroys the locket and it's trying to scare him, which was what Megan and I were debating. But don't worry about it. I'm sure they won't actually show anything in the movie. So relax...

And if anyone is reading my blog and HASN'T READ HARRY POTTER, then that is the biggest mistake they will ever make. Ever. I WILL COME OUT AND KILL YOU!!

  15. Umm...Nina? Are you going at midnight? Because I want to go but I need someone to go with...so... :)
And who cares if there's school the next day? I'd rather watch DH than sleep.
By the way, one of my friends is studying abroad in London and she just camped outside some place and MET pretty much EVERY actor in the entire movie. Like talked to/hung out with Ginny, DRACO, and Dean. (She held DRACO MALFOY'S HAND.) Like stood within inches of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Lucius Malfoy, Luna, Bellatrix, Mr. Weasley, Fred and George, the J.K. Rowling herself.
I am so jealous I could DIE.

  16. OH MY GOODNESS! How is that fare at all? Hey I have an idea! Let's all go to England and watch the movie there!

(Of course I know that's not/can't do that but wouldn't that be fun?)

    ReplyDelete
  17. LARA YOU ARE SOOOOOOO ON!!!!!! I'm so happy about this proposal I might die right now. And I've never met your friend, so I don't really feel jealous, though I'm sure I'd freak out if I did know her. ;)

WE ARE SO GOING TOGETHER AT MIDNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. If my parents will let me, I'm down. Which they should, but we'll see. They've heard some rumors about a nude scene, but I'm thinking that's not until part 2. Have you heard anything about that? Apparently it's between Harry and Hermione.
My one reaction is WHAT THE HECK????? Harry and Hermione??? How does this make any sense/fit in with the plot/accomplish anything/NOT mess up future pairings/NOT be majorly contradicted by future pairings???
    WHY???????

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is something I shall discuss with you in person tomorrow, if you're okay with that. I'm really not up to arguing this over the comp any more than I need to. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thank you LARA! That is exactly how I responded to this little piece of info! Nina said it was ok but, it is NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not saying it was okay to have a random nude scene and I don't think it'll benefit the plot whatsoever, but I don't think that you should NOT see it! That's just extreme.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't know. I want to see it, but I don't want that hanging over my head for the rest of... FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  23. True... I'm just going to close my eyes. What else CAN I do?!?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well, you could do a lot of things like you could shout "LOOK OVER THERE EVERY ONE!" And that usualy gets people to look away. Or you could not go at all, but I know you don't want to do that, I am just saying you have options. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. True, but I don't feel like that last one IS an option. I'd rather have someone stick pins in my voodoo doll than NOT see HP7.

That's a GREAT IDEA, Megan!!!! I'm TOTALLY going to pull a luna and shout "LOOK EVERYONE! It's a BLUBBERING HUMDINGER!!!" in the middle of that scene. You are a genius.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My Family does that every time we see a bad picture and don't want any one else to see it. Because when ever we shout "Don't look over there!" every one looks! So we figured out that if we shout "Look!" and piont in the other direction of the picture every one looks in the opposite direction. It's funny.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's hilarious. I'm SO doing this. maybe not too loudly, cause I'll get kicked out, but just to my immediate neighbor. But that's good enough.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nina, I found out he is not going to be nude! I sent you an email with the info on it! I'm so HAPPY! :))))))

    ReplyDelete
  29. P.S.
I saw the movie yesterday... Harry AND Hermione were naked... kissing... YUCK!!!!! That person on the internet LIED! :(

    P.S.S.
    That movie was still AWESOME!
